Dan Glauz joined Evernham Motorsports at the beginning of 2006 and will lead Erin Crocker and the No. 98 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Ram team in NASCAR Truck Series competition this year.
Growing up in Grand Rapids, Mich., Glauz caught the racing bug at an early age while attending races at local tracks around his hometown.
Over the years, he climbed his way up the racing ladder by working with ASA and ARCA RE/MAX Series teams. Glauz served as chassis specialist for driver Tim Steele in 1993 when the he claimed the ARCA RE/MAX Series championship.
In 1994, Glauz moved up to the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series to work as the chassis specialist for rookie Ward Burton and team owner A.G. Dillard. Over the course of the next 10 years, Glauz worked in all of NASCAR’s top three divisions (Cup, Busch and Truck) with teams including Richard Childress Racing, Bahari Racing and Curb-Agajanian Motorsports.
In 2005, Glauz served as crew chief on the No. 2 Dodge Ram driven by Jimmy Spencer for Ultra Motorsports. Glauz led the team to three top-five and nine top-10 finishes.
When Ultra Motorsports closed its doors prior to the start of the 2006 season, Glauz was quickly chosen to head up the No. 98 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Ram team for Evernham Motorsports.
“Working for Ray Evernham and the whole Evernham Motorsports organization is an extremely great opportunity for me,” Glauz said. “Most of my guys from Ultra Motorsports came over as a group to the No. 98 Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Ram team, and with our experience as a team we have a good opportunity to give Erin a shot to showcase her talents. We’re going to do everything in our power to give her the best equipment to work with this year.
“When you combine the team we’ve assembled with the support of Evernham Motorsports and Erin’s talent and competitive attitude, we should get into Victory Lane before the end of the season.”
