“There's only one mission for a driver in the NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge...WIN. There's no concern about points. There's no concern about saving the car. It's 90 laps, 135 miles. To win requires perfection from the driver, car, crew chief and crew. Put it together and the reward is there -- $1 million.
“It's an unbelievable atmosphere both days. We're racing at home. It's a chance for our families and friends to come to the race with us. I'm ready now.
“The qualifying format creates a lot of excitement. The crews really get into it. It's about pride, being the best. Our guys take it seriously. Everybody gets pumped up. You can bet the No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger team is ready to perform.
“There's been some great finishes in past years, some of the most exciting in NASCAR history. It will be no different Saturday night when 20-some drivers do battle for the same piece of real estate -- victory lane. There's always fireworks in the race. This will be my sixth appearance in the event. Maybe this is the one!”
