KASEY KAHNE AT BRISTOL
This weekend will mark Kahne’s third NASCAR Nextel Cup Series start at Bristol. He earned his best start/finish at Bristol in last year’s fall race, starting second and finishing 21 st.
In last year’s spring race at Bristol – Kahne’s first Nextel Cup visit to the racetrack – he qualified fourth, and was aiming for the race lead on lap 59 when contact with the No. 42 car took him out of second place to finish 40 th with a DNF.
FRONT ROW STARTS
Kahne started the fall race at Bristol in the front row with a qualifying time of 15.060 sec., just 0.152 sec. from the track record. The start was one of Kahne’s eight front-row starts in 2004, which ranked third best on the circuit.

Kasey Kahne and the No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger team is testing at Texas Motor Speedway this Tuesday, March 29, along with Evernham Motorsports teammate Bill Elliott in the No. 91 Stanley Tools Dodge Charger.
KAHNE TO RUN ‘REVERSE’ PIT CAP SCHEME AT INDY
While Kasey Kahne turned out a season for the record books in 2004, NASCAR fans turned out in record numbers donning Kahne’s signature Dodge pit cap at racetracks across the country. As a thank-you for the sea of red Dodge pit caps seen in the grandstands each weekend, Kahne’s No. 9 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger will sport a ‘reverse’ paint scheme of the fan-favorite hat style. The special paint scheme, which will debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 2005 Brickyard 400, features a predominantly white design with two red racing stripes across the entire length of the car top – a ‘reverse’ color design based upon the popular hat and the replica race car scheme that Kahne debuted in the 2004 Mountain Dew Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.
